Adjoa Gyarkoa Appiah-Kubi, Basic 8 pupil from Effutu M/A Basic School in Cape Coast, is the winner of the 2023 edition of the School Sanitation Solutions Challenge. She thus becomes the next Child Sanitation Diplomat for one year and succeeds Maame Akua Ohenewaa Gyimah.

Adjoa became a finalist by first earning a place in the Masters Encounter after her essay was picked among the Top 5 in the Coconut Zone comprising Central, Western, and Western North Regions. She successfully defended her essay, won her zone and therefore qualified as a finalist in a contest that started with nearly 2,000 candidates across the country.

Adjoa eventually emerged the overall winner in the battle of Champions (Grand Finale) at the plush National Theatre through a three-tier contest including a problem of the day, an advocacy platform, and a general quiz.

Now crowned as the 4th Child Sanitation Diplomat, she will be managed by Kings Hall Media, with support from World Vision Ghana and other partners, to undertake a one-year sanitation campaign that combines learning, advocacy, and sensitization.
