A National Symposium in September with M-CODe

Kings Hall Media and M-CODe will organize a National Symposium on School Sanitation in September. The symposium has become necessary as there is need to step up advocacy on access to safe sanitation and water facilities in schools.

Several CSOs like WaterAid, World Vision, and notably CONIWAS have in recent years highlighted the issue with WASH in schools on several platforms but it appears there’s still need for more noice.

Kings Hall Media, serving as the Secretariat for the Media Coalition against Open Defecation (M-CODe) has joined the fray and has already undertaken two major activities on the issue.

M-CODe toured some schools that have been provided with very modern toilet facilities through the GAMA Sanitation and Water Project in July this year and it resulted in several media reports on the issue.

On 21st August a follow-up action was taken through a Press Conference in Accra on the same issue.

The National Symposium will be yet another platform discuss the issue with stakeholders and collectively explore solutions.
